Vanessa Clark, Apcc

I graduated from West Chester University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Minor in Deaf Studies in 2019. I completed my Masters in Clinical Mental Health at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in December 2023.

After completing my undergraduate degree, I worked at the Chester County Crime Victims’ Center, providing support to those impacted by violent crime and sexual assault, as well as their loved ones. During my clinical internship, I gained experience working with people from diverse backgrounds with a variety of presenting concerns, such as depression, anxiety, relational concerns, postpartum mood disorders, and life transitions. My previous clients ranged in age from childhood to late adulthood, and I specialized in working with older adults, understanding the unique ways they respond to stressors.

I am a person-centered, trauma-informed counselor who incorporates cognitive-behavioral therapy with reality therapy to help individuals examine their beliefs about themselves and the world around them, making changes to unhelpful thought patterns or behaviors. I integrate the person-centered conditions of unconditional positive regard, empathetic understanding, and authenticity to create a welcoming therapeutic environment. I enjoy meeting people where they are at and working alongside them to help them achieve their self-identified goals.
