Kayla
Hi! I’m Kayla, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor here at CCS. I am passionate about supporting individuals, couples, and families on their journey toward healing, growth, and achieving their goals together. My approach is rooted in empathy, active listening, and a desire to understand each person’s unique experiences. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and challenges openly while working collaboratively to identify strengths and develop practical strategies.
I have wide-ranging experience working with children and adolescents across the developmental spectrum, including toddlers, school-aged children, and teenagers, as well as with individuals, couples, and families. This includes supporting youth on the Autism spectrum and individuals with developmental, behavioral, or emotional challenges, including those experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout, etc. Throughout my education, I have had the opportunity to work collaboratively with clients, helping them achieve their goals. These experiences have strengthened my ability to tailor interventions to individual needs while supporting healthy family functioning. My education consists of earning my Bachelor of Science in Psychological Sciences from the University of Arizona, as part of the WA Franke Honors College, and my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University, with a dual focus on Marriage and Family Therapy and Professional Clinical Counseling.
In my practice, I utilize evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Mindfulness, Strength Therapy, and other integrative talk therapies to help clients build resilience and strengthen relationships while working to achieve personal, meaningful goals. I’m dedicated to guiding and encouraging clients every step of the way, helping individuals, couples, and families navigate challenges while discovering and building on their inner strengths.
