Jessica Campbell, amft

At a young age, I began my journey in the field of human services. I find joy in connecting and working with adults, teens, and children. My background is in ABA therapy in my hometown of Boston and here in California. As an ABA therapist, I worked in many schools and homes, helping children, teens, parents, and teachers develop plans to deal with difficult behaviors. In addition, while obtaining my undergraduate degree in psychology, I worked in a group home for latency-aged children.

I enjoy providing a non-judgmental, safe environment for my clients, utilizing the framework of unconditional positive regard in our sessions. This technique involves the use of empathy, support, and acceptance as a guideline in our time spent together. I also use various interventions and modalities, including trauma play therapy, mindfulness, meditation, CBT, Socratic method of questioning, family systems, and existential therapy. Soon, I will be trained in the flash technique, which is an intervention used to reduce the disturbance of traumatic memories.

As a therapist, I am open to guiding and supporting whatever comes my way. I have experience treating addiction, codependency, various aspects of recovery, anxiety, depression, autism, grief, the LGBTQ population, trauma, and divorce.

A little bit about me: I have four children who keep me busy, and I love being a mother! I find comfort in practicing meditation and mindfulness as a form of self-care. I enjoy reading, cooking, and spending time with my children outdoors, especially at the beach.
