The decision to begin counseling services can be daunting and difficult, it is important to feel comfortable and safe with whomever you chose. I do my best to provide a collaborative, warm and safe environment to help you achieve your goals while supporting you to create meaningful change in your life. Although I have experience working with several issues and concerns some of my specialty areas include depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, interpersonal relationships & communication, and identity development.
My therapeutic style is collaborative in nature which allows us to best focus on topics and techniques which are the most useful in creating change for you, my client. I have had specific training in Gestalt therapy over the past three years. Gestalt focuses on one’s personal view of their world, is present focused, and allows for the influence of one’s environment and the therapeutic relationship. While Gestalt is my specialty I’ve also had training with other modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which I also use in my work. Utimately which modality I select in working with you will depend on your goals and the problems we are working on. The focus of our work will be on reduction of pain and gaining understanding of the emotions that influeance behavior.
