Susana Anaya-Baca, Licensed Clinical Social Worker #69056

My mission as a therapist is to help individuals, couples, families and groups overcome challenges and journey together towards wellness. Therapy is a relationship based on trust and collaboration. This dynamic is essential for the therapeutic relationship and for identifying and clarifying the treatment goals. As your therapist, you can expect a warm, non-judgmental, safe and collaborative environment to work towards your goals. While I draw from a variety of methods to formulate a strategy to address your needs, my therapeutic approach is based on evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).

Some of the areas that I have helped clients with include:

  • Anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship issues, issues associated with aging
  • Issues faced by the chronically ill, terminally ill, those suffering with memory loss, and functional loss
  • Loss, grief and bereavement with adults and children
  • Veteran, women’s and caregiver issues

I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) Clinical Social Worker, licensed to practice psychotherapy in California since 2015 and I am a proud graduate of California State University Long Beach, MSW program. I have been in the field of mental health for twenty years and have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of individuals across the life span and in various settings.

For the last seven years I have worked with the chronically and terminally ill. This experience has provided me with an in-depth understanding of the how to help those with anxiety, depression and coping skills.

I also have experience with special needs toddlers and adolescents seeking higher education as well as with school age children.

I believe in giving back to the community and have a long history of volunteering with various community non-profit organizations. For over fifteen years, I have been privileged to be a board member for an organization that provides educational scholarship and mentoring to inner city individuals to obtain a college education. I look forward to partnering with you on your journey to wellness, please contact the office at (951) 778-0230 to schedule an appointment.
