I have been in the counseling field since 1995. I started out in Oklahoma as an outpatient counselor and then moved to the inpatient setting for children and adults. In 2011 I relocated to Massachusetts and worked with a program for dual diagnosis folks. In order to be near family I relocated again to Temecula. I joined Central Counseling Services in September of 2019.
My passion is working with adolescents and adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, anger, and trauma. Many of my clients have also had co-occurring substance use problems which often accompany trauma, depression, and anxiety. I typically use cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy to help clients find their strengths and learn to manage emotions as they occur rather than turning to self destructive patterns. During this process we also work to improve social relational problems that occur with addiction or mental health problems.
